Mixed Media Floral Collage
Bring your paints and collage materials! In this 5-week class, you will create a mixed media floral collage painting while exploring color, texture, layering, and composition. Using paint, hand-painted papers, specialty papers, collage, and mark making, you will create an expressive floral-inspired piece full of depth and personality.
You will be learning about:
• Creating and incorporating hand-painted papers and specialty papers into your artwork.
• Exploring floral and organic forms and simplifying them into expressive shapes.
• Building layers through paint, collage, texture, and mark making to create rich surfaces and depth.
• Working with color, pattern, and value to create harmony and visual interest.
• Developing strong compositions by arranging floral forms and collage elements to create movement and balance.
• Creating a finished mixed media floral collage painting while developing your own artistic style and voice.

2) Matt or Gel Medium
3) Collage Paper (specialty paper, magazine paper, tissue paper and other)
4) Acrylic Paint
5) Different size brushes
6) Hair Dryer
7) Spray bottle
8) Stencils
9) Sponge for stenciling
10) Pencils
11) Scissors
12) Palette (paper or plate)
13)Water cup
14) Any other fun items you have

PLEASE NOTE: Students are required to bring a container for acrylic and/or oil paint waste and will need to take it home to dispose of properly. It CANNOT be poured down the drains at our new location. Students are also encouraged to wipe brushes clean.

About the Instructor
Behnaz Ahmadian is a self-taught mixed media artist, instructor, and interior designer. She teaches a variety of classes for adults, sharing her passion for color, texture, layering, and collage. Her work focuses primarily on acrylic and mixed media collage, often incorporating hand-painted papers and inspired by nature, organic forms, and pattern. Growing up in a creative family and influenced by her mother, a fashion designer, Behnaz brings a strong sense of color and design into both her artwork and teaching. She encourages students to explore their creativity while developing their own artistic voice.
